At least six terrorists have been killed during an operation carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Department in Shagai area of the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operation took place after a police vehicle was targeted by an explosion on Friday near the Rasul Khel check post in Lakki Marwat, resulting in the martyrdom of six personnel, including a Station House Officer (SHO), while one other cop was injured. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded the officers and personnel of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) for their successful operation against Fitna al-Khawarij in Shagai. The prime minister praised the professional capabilities of the CTD for eliminating six terrorists during the operation, the PM Office said in a statement. PM Sehbaz vowed that the war against the menace of terrorism will continue until its complete eradication from the country. “The nation is proud of the law enforcement agencies and CTD officials who are working day and night to cleanse the country of terrorists,” the PM stated. He reaffirmed that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in their mission to eliminate terrorism. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also hailed the CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for thwarting the nefarious designs of the terrorists. The interior minister paid tribute to the “brave sons” of the CTD for their courage and professionalism in neutralising six terrorists. He remarked that the CTD’s actions are commendable and vital for establishing lasting peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “We are proud of the bravery and professionalism displayed by the personnel of CTD KP,” Naqvi added.
