Choimus Festival Trip- Explore Kalash Culture and Chitral with Traverse Pakistan
Join us for a memorable journey to the Kalash Valley during the vibrant Choimus Festival, the most unique winter celebration of the Kalash people. This 4-day trip brings together culture, nature, history and unforgettable moments in one of Pakistan’s most fascinating regions.
Day 1 – Arrive in Chitral with Optional Visit to Shahi Mosque and Riverside
We will reach Chitral and settle in. If time allows, guests can visit the beautiful Chitral Shahi Mosque and enjoy a relaxed walk along the riverside. It’s a calm and comfortable start to the journey.
Day 2 – Explore Chitral Gol National Park and Travel to Kalash Valley
Begin the day with a visit to Chitral Gol National Park, famous for its winter landscapes and the chance to spot Himalayan ibex. After exploring the park, we will make our way to Kalash Valley, where the Choimus Festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm.
Day 3 – Visit Kalash Graveyard, Kalash Museum and Experience the Choimus Festival
Start the day by visiting the historic Kalash graveyard, where the community’s unique burial traditions reflect their rich heritage. We will also visit the Kalash Museum to understand their culture, beliefs and history. In the evening, experience the Choimus Festival with traditional dances, music, rituals and bonfires that bring the valley to life.
Day 4 – Final Choimus Festival Celebration and Departure for Islamabad
Enjoy the morning festival activities and soak in the last moments of the Choimus celebration. After this cultural experience, we will begin our return journey to Islamabad.
